I had already indicated that the Cilento has to offer much more than what one can visit in 2 weeks so and so I just fly off and back on again. Be expected after bad experiences with Trenitalia, I use the fast and inexpensive connection with Easyjet to Naples Capodichino, as an alternative to offer the service of VolaSalerno of flying from Milan Malpensa directly to Salerno (Pontecagnano) - right on the beach also.
I am just so beautiful from a one-week short trip to one of the sites back to me on my first visit have inspired the most - the coast between Capo Palinuro, Marina di Camerota and Scalo. Landscape need to hide anything here behind the Amalfi coast, you pay only a fraction and the fraction of noisy tourist groups from the ground clearance is still limited. Perfectly so. Housed we were highly recommended "Residenza Mediterranea" , a new, very clean house about 50 meters from the beach. The apartments are oriented so that one has from the kitchen through a picture window with breathtaking views over the sea (see photos). In the off season cost us a measly 237.00 EUR per week, therefore, a real bargain. Recommended!
The apartment with two rooms and kitchen had the advantage that we can prepare every night the fish from the local "pescheria", the Cilento is so rich in culinary specialties, fresh fish is an absolute necessity. True mozzarella is missing, of course, nowhere in the south, wild oregano and rosemary round out the local recipes from outstanding. Excursions in the season range - about lounging on the beach beyond - of possible hikes in the surrounding mountains, boat trips with night fishing with local fishermen, boats, trips by boat to nearby hidden beaches and caves up to the rich cultural offerings of the area. It was in the nature of this short break, we really that beautiful late summer weather at the beach enjoying, but basically you can every day to do something different. Marina di Camerota , with its stunning coastline and the nearby peninsula of Capo di Palinuro with the views from the lighthouse are me at least, the most beautiful sights to richly blessed with this corner of southern Italy.
