Elios - ein Willkommensgruß

Elios - a welcome gift

If one is answered by more than 1,000 km of motorway in the afternoon in his hostel hits and the question "Have you eaten already?" Practically without waiting for an answer to a quick lunch conjured Mediterranean "family", then such a holiday is probably already got up again with the right leg. Welcome in the Cilento Like every year it took us again this year in this largely unknown national park south of Salerno, this time we had picked out the central coast: the small town of Ascea with its sprawling beaches and archaeological sites Elea Velia.

I will deal in more detail in the next few weeks with this gorgeous stretch of land, makes the beginning but as always the description of our base station. The decision was quickly made: When my son on the internet the swimming pool discovered, was the decision for "Elios" virtually fallen. When I had drunk the wine for impromptu lunch gereichten I also knew that he was right back times. Technically, we had the first floor of a booked three small villas grouped around the pool, we felt almost from day one invited into the family.

The complex was built a half years ago in the style of a typical Cilento "Borgo". Only 5 minutes from the coastal town of Ascea you find yourself in total silence in the nature of the hinterland again. Here, just no sound disturbs the rest and it still has the essential facilities for the purchase of wine, mozzarella and tan beach nearby. The absolutely clean little villas are a perfect retreat for those who want to do but de beach holiday, but the beach crowds in the evening rather then escape again like you want. On site is a small trail to the flora of the region, the typical "macchia mediterranea" with wild oregano, myrtle, rosemary and oleander. Typical half-wild pear trees and super-sweet figs can be harvested, not just be at the Elios further processed according to traditional recipes. A fun evening with food and music Cilento was then the highlight of our vacation there.

Enthusiasm for the mini-hooligans can be found next to the pool and several dogs, donkeys, chickens, and what such a 10-year-old warhorse still so needs to let the parents sleep: table tennis, archery, sports, a kicker. Well, in idyllic spots on the National Park is certainly not poor, but I would like to hereby again love to send all greetings to Milena, Stefania, Sofia, Velantino, Pierluigi and Raimondo and all that I may have forgotten even by the kind people who made our wiedermal much too short stay, accompanied with a lot of heart. Not only we were provided with all the information about where you would go absolutely, where the best beaches are, where mozzarella is the best would be, where to find mushrooms, spring water and wild oregano, but otherwise we were from the beginning involved in all The enterprising family Cammararo held Sun

We come back in any case, not only because of its crystal clear beaches and excellent restaurants in Ascea, but mainly because we have found there friends. And because much more is planned: visits to local cheese makers and vintners, when dried figs look over the shoulder, the expansion of "Happy Farm" ... or just snoozing the day away. Looks purely times, very wahsceinlich you like it, too.
